Have you signed up for the Pool tournament?

As September is upon us, Dustin would like to remind all who are interested to sign up for a pool league beginning here at the Y. If you're a beginner, you will have to win less games in order to win. Pros will have to win more! Enjoy!

Cheetah Girls Party!

The Teen Center was the place to be on Saturday night, August 27, where a party was held to view the second airing of Cheetah Girls 2. Everyone had a great time with free chocolate milk, chips, and cookies. There was also a free Picture corner where anyone could have their picture taken for free.

The following articles were part of a contest here at the Teen Center. Everyone who entered had their names put in a "hat" for a chance to get two free movie tickets. The guidelines were that whoever entered had to write a poem at least 8 lines long or else they had to write a story about the Teen Center. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to Bridget S. for winning!

Love

Love can't grow on a tree
Love doesn't go in the breeze
Love is in your heart
Love grows there
Love is fair
Love is a pair of doves going in the air
Love is a feeling you can't forget
Love doesn't just sit
Love moves and grows like we do
Love is a lot of colour, not just blue
Love is a feeling to let out
Love is a feeling you can't keep in so just let it out

Jesus

Jesus is the way and the light. He blessed us with sight. Most of us go to church and Worship. Then we have to tell people about Him and what He did for me and you. Your name may be Lou or Louise but it doesn't matter what our names are or how lame we are but the most important thing is to go to church and worship Him and His Son.

Cheetahs

Cheetahs are fast
Cheetahs are cool
I wish I had a cheetah
To ride to school
They are pretty
They are awesome
They are better
Than an Opossum
They might be nice
They might be mean
But they are fast
You have seen
They are faster than lightning
They are faster than a truck
They are faster than a jet
I bet you a buck
The cheetah I would have
Would like you
Also it would like
Winnie the Pooh
If I had a Cheetah
I would name it Lil
I would go shopping for it
At Goodwill
The End

The Special Boy
We go to a different school,
We connect when we play pool
I think about him every night,
But we flirt when we fight
He was blonde I was, I am brown
When I’m with him I’m wearing a crown
He wears shorts, I wear skirts,
If he calls me chicken he’ll get hurts
He’s good at pool
But I better at school
I have style,
He wishes he could run a mile
There are people who don’t understand,
Why I like this special man

The YMCA
The YMCA
Once in a magical world there was a place called the YMCA or as some people say the teen center. There’s Titus, Dustin, Andrea, Andrea, Monic, Eddie, and Rebecca. There princess and princes, King and Queens and even a joker. There were friends and there were foes. There’s also dorks and geeks. Here there was an Art room and what we call pool there’s also a place that is so cool. Office’s and Officer’s named Officer Mineer. We have words and nerds and little tiny birds. We have Lovers and Friends and little tiny Tims. We have chambers and gamers. We have crushers and crushies. There’s Dictoionarys and picoionarys. I’m good at ping pong and other people are good at ding dong. There’s D.A.R.E. and C.A.R.E. Then theres also shareing and careing.

Rainy Day Makes Movie Day

Due to the rain, outdoor activities were closed at the Teen Center on Thursday. The teens still enjoyed a good time, however, as they watched "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C. S. Lewis.

Double Trouble (:
Eddie and Steven are clearly sad about having their picture posted on the internet. I caught these two fellows over by the pool tables. With all this furniture refinishing going on, the Game area has been a busy place this week!

April's designing!
You can tell by these pictures that when it comes to designing furniture, April's no amature with her imagination! Unfortunently, there is no picture of the dresser drawers which were signed with paint by friends of April.

The Master Work of Cassandra!

As can be clearly seen by these pictures, the saying on Cassandra's shirt may just as well be speaking of her cleaning and painting abilities as anything!
She did an excellant job finishing off the dresser with clean even strokes!

Steven Helps out!

Here we see the progressive work of Steven as he begins to clean up the dresser
, followed by a primer coat of paint that he put on. An exceptional job was done! I think that we can see a potential career here! (:
